New Nissan X-Trail rumored to be launched in India at Auto Expo 2016

Words are being exchanged within the automotive fraternity that Nissan will launch the new Nissan X-Trail in India at the Auto Expo 2016 which will kick start in February-2016.

With its design heavily influenced by the Nissan’s current design philosophy as seen in other current-day Nissan SUVs. The third-generation X-Trail was first previewed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. In India, the company is likely to us a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder dCi diesel engine, mated to a CVT gearbox and a four-wheel drive system.

The new X-Trail is built on Renault-Nissan’s Common Module Family (CMF) platform, and will be one of the first products in India to ride on the platform. It looks more modern compared to the model that was sold in India earlier. The interiors get dual-tone beige and black theme and has been redesigned to look more modern as well. It will be offered as a seven-seater; a first on X-trail model ever.

Initially, the new X-Trail will be imported to India as Completely-Built-Unit (CBUs), thus, the new SUV is expected to be priced quite expensive in between Rs 32-35 lakh.
