It’s only been ten months since the 2020 Maruti Suzuki Dzire facelift made its official launch in India, but it appears that the automaker’s middle-east division is still receiving post-facelift model, even for the 2021 model.
MADE-IN-INDIA 2021 Suzuki Dzire left-hand-drive (post facelift) has been photographed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is imported by the official Suzuki distributor Al Rostamani Group. In UAE, the Suzuki Dzire is available in 2 variants – GL (mid-option) and GLX (full-option) with a single 1.2L VVT petrol engine mated to an automatic transmission.
The 2021 Dzire GLX full-option variant model spotted here lacks projector headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, faux wood trim on the dashboard and a revised 7-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment head-unit that has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity as seen on the India-Spec top-end variant.
Under the bonnet, the GCC-Spec Suzuki Dzire gets a same 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, Dual Jet petrol engine that has idle start-stop function. It produces 83 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm @ 4,200 rpm. The motor is offered with a 5-speed AGS (Automatic Gear Shift) only. Fuel efficiency is a claimed at 21 KMPL. There is no manual gear and diesel engine option on-sale in UAE.
The new automatic gearbox from Maruti Suzuki is now called the Automatic Gear Shifter (AGS). This is similar to the AMT technology. AMT technology is something that works well in traffic conditions.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire has been one of India’s largest-selling cars since its launch in 2008, selling close to 20 lakh units.
