The Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire has been quietly re-branded as the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire Tour. A month ahead of the new 2017 DZire launch, the company has rebadged the current-generation DZire.
Today an advertisement published in a leading Kannada newspaper confirms that the all-new Dzire Tour is silently launched to taxi aggregators and fleet operators at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 6.25 lakh for diesel trim. It can be opted only with commercial registration plates. In the advertisement, the company also reveals various advantages like save upto Rs. 55,000, attach your vehicle to top fleet operators, attractive finance available and earn Rs. 1500** MGA (Maruti Genuine Accessories) / Service coupon on reference scheme.
Just like how the out-going Tour was based on the 1st gen Swift DZire, the all-new Dzire Tour is based on the existing model which is likely to be discontinued for the private car buyer’s from next-month. The new Dzire Tour will be available in a single variant, offered in choice of the fuel based variants, the petrol variant will be LXi and diesel variant will be LDi.
Visually, the 2017 Swift Dzire Tour features the black front and rear bumpers (instead of body colored), black outside rear-view mirrors, black door knobs, stickers replacing the chrome-plated lettering on the boot and a black plastic grille from base model. However, on the inside it retains its dual-tone black and beige color scheme. Furthermore, it adds better ambience inside with faux wood trim on dashboard and doors.
Mechanicals remain unchanged, with the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines that currently power the regular Dzire, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, a petrol variant could be fitted with a CNG kit for low cost running offered as an option. The feature set of the Dzire Tour has been trimmed down to keep the cost low.
