The Hyundai Verna has been a decent seller for the automaker over the years. This is despite the fact that the Verna operates in the crowded mid-size sedan segment. Hyundai will be looking on getting a bigger piece of the pie, and have planned the facelifted version for India.
Launching in 2020, the mid-size sedan was recently spied in China. The Verna facelift was carrying some camouflage on the front and rear, thus in order to hide its changes. Hyundai will be giving the Verna a new front and rear end, similar to that of the Elantra facelift launching this-year.
The facelifted Verna will make its global debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April. It will get features like an updated touchscreen infotainment system, new diamond-cut alloy wheels, seat covers, telematics and so on. It will carry changes like a new grille, new LED headlamps and tail-lamps.
Engine-wise, there is not much information regarding the motor to be in place. We can expect the facelifted Verna to come with a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel as options. It will be offered with both manual and automatic transmissions.
Prices are expected to start from Rs. 8 lakh and go all the way to Rs. 15 lakh for the top trims. The facelifted Verna will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City and the Toyota Yaris. This facelift will continue the trend of Hyundai cars getting regular updates here, which seems an interesting decision from the automaker.
