2020 Hyundai Elantra facelift spied again, launch later this-year

Hyundai will be gearing up to launch a facelifted version of the Elantra premium sedan here. Though it is slated for a year-end launch, recent reports indicate that the Hyundai could be coming here in September. The facelifted Elantra has been spotted undergoing testing again, this time on the roads of Hyderabad.

Pictures have been taken via Krishna Goyal and Dr. Abish KK. The vehicle will feature some cosmetic updates as well as the addition of a few new features. On the exterior, the Elantra facelift will sport a new cascading front grille, LED headlamps and tail-lamps, new alloy wheels and a new spoiler at its boot end.

Interior-wise, the vehicle will have a new steering wheel, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and some new digital meters. On the safety front, the Elantra will come with as much as 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear view camera, front parking sensors and driver attention alert system. Hyundai will give the facelifted Elantra the same set of engines seen on the current model.

These include a 2.0 litre petrol engine, which makes 149.5 BHP of power along with 192 Nm of torque. It will also come powered by a 1.6 litre CRDi diesel motor, giving 128 BHP of power and 260 Nm of torque. Both these engines are offered with an option of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Hyundai are likely to price the facelifted Elantra at the Rs. 12-20 lakh price point across all its trims. When launched, the facelifted Elantra will have its rivals in the form of the Honda Civic, Skoda Octavia and the Toyota Corolla Altis. Hyundai will hope that the facelifted Elantra will come into its own in order to attract potential buyers.
