RENDERED: 6th Generation 2018 Volkswagen Polo. What it might look like?

So far VW Polo has been an ideal choice for consumers who want to enjoy luxury, style and power in the hatchback size. A lot of the factors have contributed to the success of the Polo, the styling, power to weight ratio, and the comfort. Since its launch in 2009 the current Polo is the 5th generation in line and soon will be superseded by the upcoming 6th generation Polo. In years the exterior styling of Polo has not been drastically changed but its all about to change with the 6th generation soon to hit the production line. Here are some renderings by automotive design specialist Theophilus Chin that give us an insight how the upcoming Polo might look like.

The renderings show a fusion of design cues taken from the latest VW Golf MK7 and the GTE Concept blended together in the iconic styling of Polo with finer edges and smoother curves. Along with the exterior upgrades the 6th generation Polo will be based on the latest MQB platform, which will make it even more lighter in weight and will offer better handling.

Former Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Dr. Heinz-Jakob Neusser confirmed that the sixth-gen VW Polo will be based on the MQB modular platform. “Yeah it’ll be based on the MQB platform, it’s the smallest platform of MQB,” he said. The smallest version of the MQB platform is the ‘MQB A0’.
