Bajaj Auto is working on introducing an ABS version of their Pulsar 220F. The company is all-set to launch the bike during the upcoming festive season. Recently, the Pulsar 220F was spied, with the bike having the feature of ABS.
Spotted alongside the Pulsar 150 ABS, the 220F ABS will not have any visual differences compared to the current model. Apart from the introduction of ABS encoder rings, the bike will largely remain the same. The other noticeable change will be the introduction of fresh new body decals.
The introduction of ABS will comply with the Indian government’s order to make this feature compulsory for all two-wheelers from now onwards. Bajaj are also likely to optimize the powertrain for the 2019 Pulsar 220F to keep in touch with BS-VI emission norms. Mechanically, there are no changes expected to take place for the bike as well.
The engine in consideration will be the same oil-cooled, single-cylinder 220cc engine seen on the current model. This engine is capable of delivering 21 BHP of power and 18 Nm of torque. It will be coming mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
With the introduction of ABS on the bike, we can expect a slight increase in its pricing. The Pulsar 220F has built a reputation for itself over the years as a value for money performance motorcycle. It will be interesting to see whether the facelifted model will turn out to be as popular as its predecessors.
