TVS Motor is further expanding its bike range with a introduction of 110cc commuter motorcycle for the Indian market. Christened the Radeon, it is officially launched last-week priced at Rs. 48,400 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Radeon is the third motorcycle from Hosur-based bike maker in the 110cc category, following the Star City+ and the Victor.
The company first unveiled the Radeon during the 2012 Auto Expo. The motorcycle was powered by a 125cc engine and was scheduled to be launched in 2014, however, the bike did not see the light of the day at the time. Design-wise, the motorcycle carries forward a simple design similar to the Star City+.
The Radeon uses the tried-and-tested 109.7cc Dura-Life engine from the company. This engine is also seen on the Victor, producing 9.46 BHP of power and 9.2 Nm of torque, mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The engine will be offered as an air-cooled motor. It has a 10-litre fuel tank and claimed mileage is 69.3 KMPL.
TVS Radeon comes equipped with the Synchronised Braking Technology which is also a FIRST-IN-SEGMENT. It competes with the likes of the Hero Splendor Plus, Honda CD 110 Dream DX and the Bajaj Platina Comfortec. The company has a good market share in the commuter bike segment and the new Radeon will only strengthen it further!
