It looks like the upcoming Tiago-based sedan (‘Kite5’ codenamed) will not be called the ‘Sway’ after all. The fresh reports on the web reveal that two names are shortlisted by Tata Motors – Tata Viago or Tata Altigo.
Tata Motors is now finalising the production name of the Tiago-based compact sedan, which is expected to hit Indian showrooms by mid-2017. Positioned below the Tata Zest, it will be a replacement model to the ageing Indigo eCS. There is no fix date on launch as of now, as the company is preparing for the Hexa’s launch lined up for early next-year.
Nearly identical to the small hatchback up to the B-pillar, the Tiago-based sedan features a fast, coupe-like roofline that terminates in a stubby, yet well-proportioned boot. The silhouette has also allowed the designers to give the sedan a bigger rear door that make access to the back seats easier.
