As per the reports on the Business Standard, Pune-based car maker Tata Motors has scheduled to launch the Tata Tiago AMT variant and Tata Kite5 (Tiago sedan) during the upcoming Dussehra-Diwali festive season (September-November period).
The Tiago petrol is set to get a much-needed AMT (Automatic Manual Transmission) gearbox, mated to the 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine. Reports state that the Tiago AMT diesel is expected to launch at a later stage. It will be the third model to get AMT gearbox in Tata’s range, and the Kite5 compact sedan would also get one.
The Kite5 is the company’s third sub-4-metre or compact sedan and is basically a Tata Tiago with a stubby boot. The exterior borrows the front-end of the Tiago, while the side profile gets sharp character lines, blackened glass area, while the rear sports a small boot, wrap around taillamps. Once launched, the Kite5 is expected to be the least expensive sedan in India.
