Chevrolet India has bagged won three top awards in the India Automotive Initial Quality Study (IQS) and Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) 2010 announced by J.D Power and Associates. While Chevrolet Spark bagged the top honors for the Most Dependable Compact Car and the Best Compact Car in Initial Quality, Chevrolet Aveo U-VA won the JD Power Award for the Most Dependable Car in the Premium Compact Car segment.
This is the fourth consecutive year that Chevrolet Spark has won the top award for quality in the India Automotive Initial Quality Study announced by J.D Power. These consecutive victories validate the popularity and efficiency of Chevrolet Spark in the country and GM India’s commitment to produce world-class vehicles for this market.
“These prestigious wins from J D Power clearly reiterate that Chevrolet has become the preferred automobile brand in terms of quality, dependability and customer delight. We will continue to leverage the momentum gained thus far and build on the inherent strengths of our products in the future also.” said, Chevrolet, P Balendran, Vice-President, General Motors India.
Chevrolet is celebrating its centennial as a global automotive brand this year. One of the reasons for the recent success of the brand in India could be the unique 3 years/ 36000 km cash-less maintenance offer which is really a win-win for its customers. Plenty of Chevrolet small car buyers, for whom low maintenance costs are a serious factor, seem to be enthused by this offer and GM India it appears has gotten their strategy just right. Going forward, let’s hope that GM implements this cashless maintenance scheme for its other models too which could definitely help improve its sales to a certain extent.
