The 2018 Hyundai Elite i20 facelift was spied not too long ago in India, showing us hints of the upcoming Verna on its updated exterior.
If you need some idea on just what the new i20 may look like from the front, our rendering artist Mohammed Afraz has envisioned what an Elite i20 mid-cycle facelift will look like, drawing inspiration from the international-spec Hyundai Solaris.
The i20 cues are most obvious on the overall design, however for a fresher appeal it gets sleeker swept-back headlamps with projector lighting and LED DRLs, and appear to emulate the “scale-look” of the upcoming Verna, as well as the new Elantra. There’s also a large cascade grille that’s also seen on the latest Xcent sedan.
These flow into a sportier bumper design with Hyundai’s air curtain inlets, and also note a new 16-inch dual-tone alloys with different design. No render of the facelifted i20’s rear, but it will get a whole new design with re-designed tail lamps, re-postioned registration plate onto the tailgate and re-worked back bumper.
The facelifted Hyundai Elite i20 will be launched in India in early-2018, reportedly packing the familiar 84 PS 1.2-litre petrol unit with a 5-speed manual, 100 PS 1.4-litre petrol engine with a 4-speed automatic, and a 90 PS 1.4-litre turbo-diesel mill with a 6-speed manual.
An all-new performance-oriented 1.0-litre turbocharged direct injection petrol engine is likely to be be introduced. Paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, this engine is expected to produce 100 PS and 171 Nm of torque.
