The Mercedes-Benz Gelandewagen is now available yet another batch of luxurious special editions, this time as the ‘Edition 463’, alongside the company has launched the AMG GLS 63 in India priced at Rs. 2.17 crore and Rs. 1.58 crore respectively (ex-showroom, Pune).
The new special editions duo gain aesthetic changes for the both the G 63 and GLS 63, the G 63 Edition 463 gets (21-inch) 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels with matte black finish, AMG sport strips on flanks, stainless-steel under-ride guard and a dark aluminium finished exterior protective strips. Interior gets wrapped in black designo leather upholstery with diamond quilting.
No change in terms of performance, the G 63 Edition 463 is powered the supercharged 5.5-litre, V8 continuing to provide 563 BHP and 760 Nm of torque via an AMG Speedshift DCT 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It sprints from 0-100 KMPH comes in just 5.4 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 210 KMPH.
The G 63 ‘Edition 463’ isn’t the only thing the brand introduced either. There’s also the GLS 63, this performance oriented version of the standard GLS-Class sources firepower from a 5.5-litre Biturbo V8 with 577 BHP and 760 Nm. This unit comes with AMG Performance 4Matic permanent all-wheel drive and a AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic transmission to ensure all that power is properly deployed.
Over the standard GLS-Class, the GLS 63 AMG comes equipped with a collapsible spare wheel, red-painted brake calipers, panoramic sliding sunroof, LED intelligent light system with integrated LED DRLs, AMG body styling, EASY-PACK tailgate with electrically operated open-close function and mirror package including brand logo projection (puddle lamps).
Step inside and you’ll find that the GLS 63 AMG features an AMG Performance steering wheel done in black nappa leather, temperature-controlled cup holders, front seats with massage function, THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control, memory package, heated front and rear seats, Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system and electrically foldable 3rd seat row.
