This is the first teaser image of upcoming motorcycle that Bajaj Auto will showcase on February 1, just 2 days prior to the 2016 Auto Expo.
The company has officially revealed the name ‘Bajaj V150’, the ‘V’ in the brand name stands for Vikrant as in INS Vikrant. It shows a cruiser-like, executive commuter motorcycle that should sit above the Discover 150F in Bajaj’s line-up. The silhouette revealed in the teaser video shows the same ‘weird’ bike which has been spotted a few times earlier and it appears to carry the same very unique design.
The V150 pays tribute to the dismantled India’s first aircraft carrier which played a huge role in 1971 Indo-Pak war by not only deriving its brand name, but have also used the metal from this carrier. Considering the limited use of material from a warship, it may be a limited edition initially or may come with a lesser price tag in a regular version.
Design-wise, the V150 takes Bajaj’s design language in a bold new direction, which can be made-out from the teaser image itself; it has been given a retro classic styling with a bikini fairing, a long slender fuel tank and a cafe racer like look with a single seat. Mated to these unique styling is expected to get the 14.3 bhp 150cc air-cooled engine paired to 5-speed gearbox from the Discover 150.
