A year after the new 2017 Suzuki S-Cross facelift has made its global debut in Hungary, it is now time for India to welcome the updated S-Cross, positioned in the premium urban segment. Unlike before, the crossover is only offered in 1.3-litre DDiS 200, omitting the 1.6-litre DDiS 320 variant.
Revisions start with the S-Cross’s styling, which now comes with all-new front fascia featuring a bold chrome front grille, which now has vertical slats as opposed to horizontal ones from before, reworked headlights with LED DRLs, a new hood and a new front bumper. At the back, the tail-lights are new and so is the bumper. On the side, there are a new set of alloy wheels with dual-tone treatment.
Far fewer changes can be found inside, with revisions limited to new seat upholstery options and a new seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is now compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also there is an updated instrument cluster with a new multi-information display, an all-black interior and contrast stitching on the upholstery. Sunroof is not on offer.
In terms of power, the India-spec facelifted S-Cross is offered with a sole engine option of 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine that develops 89 BHP of power and 200 Nm of torque. The power is transmitted to front-wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. The engine gains SHVS mild-hybrid system which has improved the mileage of the latest car by 7 percent, from 23.65 KMPL to 25.1 KMPL (ARAI certified).
