Following the update of its boot-less sibling, Volkswagen India has launched the facelift version of Vento priced at Rs 7.44 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The major change in the updated version is inclusion of 1.5-litre TDi diesel engine which replaces the bigger 1.6-litre engine. The new diesel engine is offered with both 5- speed manual transmission and a 7-speed dual-shift DSG automatic gearbox (first-in-segment).
Volkswagen Vento facelift – ExteriorView
On the exterior, the Vento facelift gets redesigned 15-inch alloy wheels, and more powerful dual-beam headlamps. On the interior, there’s the new three-spoke steering wheel from the Polo hatchback facelift, and the dashboard is in a brown and black dual tone theme with the center console getting a silver finish. The Highline variants get Bluetooth-enabled audio system, speed sensing door locks, automatic climate control and steering-mounted audio controls.
Pitched against the likes of Honda City and Hyundai Verna, the company has paid special focus at the rear seat comfort. The rear seats are now offered with entertainment package which includes individual screens in the front headrests. Dual front airbags are standard across all variants, and so are height-adjustable driver seat and power windows. Two new colour options are Toffee Brown, and Night Blue.
Volkswagen Vento facelift – InteriorView
No changes to the petrol engines – other than the 105 PS, 153 Nm 1.6-litre MPI engine mated to a 5-speed manual (15.04 kmpl), and also gets a 1.2-litre TSI option with 105 PS and 175 Nm, mated a 7-speed DSG (16.93 kmpl). The diesel engine is new – a 1.5-litre TDI that does 105 PS and 250 Nm, available with a 5-speed manual & 7-speed DSG (21.21 kmpl).
