Renault, the French car manufacturer that has been slowly getting itself a strong presence in India has just launched the facelifted Koleos SUV and the facelifted Fluence sedan in India. The Koleos come with a starting price of Rs 22.33 lakhs whereas the Fluence has been launched at a price of Rs 14.22 lakhs. Both of the cars get mid-life makeovers to generate buzz around them and get their sales moving which aren’t doing well for a long time.
Talking about the Fluence, it gets a 2.0-litre petrol motor that has 137PS-190NM on offer. There’s a turbocharged 1.6-litre diesel motor also on offer that develops 132PS and 320 NM, alongside the regular 1.5-litre K9K turbo diesel engine which develops 110PS of maximum power and 240NM of peak torque. The petrol variant gets mated to a CVT transmission and the diesel gets a 6-speed manual transmission.
On the outside it gets new bumpers, revamped front grille, daytime running LEDs and all new alloys. It gets an all new infotainment system on the inside. Coming to the Koleos, it has been launched in 3 guises with a starting price of Rs 22.33 lakhs for the 4×2 Manual transmission variant. The 4×4 MT gets priced at 25.14 lakhs and the 4×4 AT has been given a price of 26.19 lakhs (all figures ex-showroom, Delhi).
All the models get the same 2.0-litre diesel motor but the base variant gets it in a different state of tune. You get it in 150PS-320NM guise in the 2WD variant whereas the 4WD variants get it in 173PS-360NM state of tune. It omits ESP, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, Bose Stereo system, leather seats, electronically adjustable front seats and dual tone alloys which are standard on the other two variants.
They get Smart card access, Start/Stop system, ABS, rear parking sensors, rain sensor, dusk sensor, BOSE audio system, dual zone AC, steering mounted audio controls and cruise control to make them loaded to the gills with features. You get an optional beige and black interior colour option while the exterior colour options are red, black, white and silver. We hope Renault gets a share of the respective segments the Koleos and Fluence will be present in.
