After the recent success of the Renault Duster, Renault is all-set to launch the facelifted Fluence in the last week of September in India. The facelifted Fluence was spotted outside Renault’s manufacturing facility at Chennai, whose details and pics has already been viewed by our dear readers in our previous posts couple of months ago at BharathAutos.
The recent launch of Ford EcoSport has caused decrease in the sales of the Renault Duster, as a result of which Renault has planned to launch the facelifted Fluence in the Indian market in order to compensate the decreasing sales and get back Renault to a position where it was before the launch of Ford EcoSport. Coming to the changes, facelifted Renault Fluence looks more aggressive than the current generation Fluence.
Although the body line remains the same, the facelifted Fluence features a new triple housing bumper along with a black glossy front grill. A large Renault badge sits at the center of the front grill. Apart from this, the facelifted Fluence features petal shaped headlights inherited from the current generation Fluence, in addition to which it also has black inserts and projector headlamps for the new model.
Continuing with the changes, facelifted Fluence would also sport new fog lamps which also has day time running lights embedded into the upper part of the fog lamps, slight changes to the front and rear bumpers, new tail light inserts, multimedia system (now gets a touchscreen and can be operated by voice commands), new instrument cluster and chrome finish to the door handles.
Coming to the technical specifications, the facelifted Fluence is expected to be powered with the same 1.5-litre, 110 PS diesel engine and 2.0-litre, 137 PS petrol engine with slight improvement to the emission levels. This new diesel engine is quite frugal and provides a decent mileage of 21.73 kmpl.
