New Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo launched in India: from Rs. 31.02 lakh

Toyota has launched the Fortuner TRD Sportivo, the sportier edition of one of the most celebrated SUVs in the Indian auto market. The new variant is is available in the 4×2 AT with a single Pearl White colour choice priced at Rs. 31.02 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Designed by Toyota Racing Development (TRD), the new edition will get TRD decals and rides on new 18-inch TRD alloy wheels shod with 265/60 R18 tyres. There’s a black-nosed look for this TRD Sportivo, and a red TRD badge sits on the gap between the grille and number plate.

Other exterior changes include dual-tone front bumper with black fog lamp housings and a black grille with TRD logo, revised rear bumper with integrated spoiler and TRD Sportivo badge. On the inside there are minimal changes, which include red accents on the centre console and seats and red stitching on the seats and the dashboard.

Mechanically, the Fortuner TRD Sportivo is identical to the 4X2 AT variant and is offered with a 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that develops 175 BHP @ 3,400 rpm and peak torque of 450 Nm @ 1,600- 2,400 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shift and is rear-wheel drive only. The suspension is fine-tuned further, and four-wheel disc brakes are in use.
