The buzz has already been around about the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI for some time now. The car will be launched on the 29th of April, and close to the launch some more details have been discovered. The car looks similar to the existing variants on the outside, but as the pictures of the interiors reveals there is a lot to talk about.
On the exterior the car has got a chrome treatment on the front grill and GT TSI labels all around the car separates it from the existing Polo. On the interior the steering wheel, the centre console and the brake and accelerator pedals also has received a chrome treatment. The other upgrades include leather wrapped gearshift knob, 2-DIN music system with Bluetooth and Aux connectivity, climatronic automatic air conditioning and a Multi-function display. There is no change in the interior design and the GT TSI will inherit a lot of its equipment from the existing top-end variant of Polo.
Apart from the styling upgrades the most important upgrade to the GT is the 1.2TSI petrol engine which is coupled to a seven-speed DSG gearbox. The 1.2 TSI Polo UK specs produces a 105bhp and a 175Nm of torque, which will probably the same for the one launched in India. If this happens, the Polo 1.2TSI can be the most powerful car in the hatchback segment. The GT TSI will also come with ABS and dual airbags on the front, the driver and the co-passenger side and also will have rear parking sensor as a standard.
The Volkswagen Polo GT TSI is expected to be a priced a little higher than the Polo 1.2 Highline Petrol, speculated to be priced around Rs. 1.5 lakhs more that means approximately Rs 9.0 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Well, with the launch just around the corner, we will soon know it all.
