At the on-going Paris Motor Show, Lamborghini unveiled a slightly facelifted version of its most successful sports car in history – the Lamborghini Gallardo. The Gallardo range is set to undergo a major change in 2014 is quite apparent, but before that, Lamborghini has infused some life into the range with a refresh model for 2013.
The company has unveiled two models (total of 4 variants) of the new Lamborghini Gallardo at the on-going event, the LP560-4 and the LP570-4 Edizione Tecnica. However, the Gallardo LP 550-2 coupé and Spyder models continue unchanged. The six models of the Gallardo family are now clearly differentiated and can be customized perfectly to suit every type of driver. Both of these models will be available at Lamborghini dealerships from November 2012.
Changes to the Gallardo LP 560-4 – the best-selling model in Lamborghini’s history – include tweaked front and rear styling, new matte black 19-inch alloy wheels and larger air intakes in front of the front wheels. The new front-end is characterized by triangular and trapezoidal forms – two shapes that are highly typical of the Lamborghini design language.
Power for the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 comes from a 5.2-liter V10 engine making 552-hp at 8,000 rpm. 0 to 100 kph comes in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 320 kph.
The new Edizione Tecnica gets further improved equipment level and a more individual look with a fixed high rear wing, as well as brakes in carbon-ceramic technology. It also gets a lineup of special exterior colors including Nero Nemesis (matt black) body with Arancio Argos (orange) pillars and front air intakes, Bianco Canopus (matt white) body with Arancio Argos pillars and front air intakes, and Arancio Argos body with Nero Nemesis pillars and front air intakes.
Last but not the least, the company’s flagship, the Aventador, gets the much spoken about cylinder deactivation, start/stop system and a returned suspension setup we will be reporting about in detail soon.
