Yamaha India is planning on adding another bike to its line-up which has been named “Saluto” and it will be driven by a 125cc motor. The company needs to expand its piece of the pie in the 125cc commuter segment where its past offerings didn’t do too well.
The new Yamaha Saluto will be positioned above the SS 125 and the YBR 125.
It presently offers SS125 and YBR 125 in the 125cc segment. The new bike will be the next launch by the Japanese bikemaker in the nation and will be positioned as a premium commuter. The bike is required to seem to be like other Yamaha 125cc bikes and won’t be as lively as the likes of Discover 125.
We anticipate that the Yamaha Saluto will make use the same 125cc motor that the current models utilize, however, with a few changes to enhance its power and effeciency. It is rumoured to produce around 11 PS of power and 10.5 Nm of torque. This will guarantee it is sufficiently quick to dash through city movement. The current 5-speed gearbox will in all likelihood be utilized on the new commuter. A disc brake may be offered as a choice to add to the premium-ness of the bike but details about that are unclear as of now.
The spy picture of the Saluto demonstrates the bike with a telescopic front fork suspension and dual shocks at the back and a single long contoured seat. The bike will do away with the graphics to make it appeal to the masses. Media reports propose that the Saluto will be estimated near to Rs. 60,000 (ex-showroom). More points of interest on the bike are anticipated in future as it nears the launch.
