A sensational spy shot of the interior of the production version of the Tata Nexon, Tata’s answer to the compact SUV battle. Very impressive looks, with much sleeker design inside the cabin and design elements inspired from the concept car showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo.
The Nexon gets the same features seen in the current day Tata cars like horizontally-profiled AC vents, an instrument cluster derived from the Tata Bolt/Tata Zest, the short-diameter 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel and rotary controls for the HVAC system. Also note the interesting design for the gear knob.
The prototype snapped here is definitely not the top-end variant, as it misses out on a touch-screen entertainment system and automatic climate control. The Nexon is set to compete with cars such as the Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300, and the upcoming Maruti Vitara Brezza. It will debut at the 2016 Auto Expo next-month and launch on the Indian car market later this-year.
There will be two engines available: a 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron petrol engine, and the famous 1.3-litre Fiat-sourced diesel engine that somehow keeps popping up in every new Tata cars.
