Upcoming Renault Triber to be available in four variants

Renault will launch its much-awaited compact vehicle, the Triber, to the Indian market soon. The Triber is essentially a 7-seater compact vehicle, aimed at the affordable end of the market. It will be launched in India by end of thios-month or maximum by September.

It has been revealed that Renault will offer the Triber in four variants. These include the RXE, RXS, RXT and RXZ variants. The RXZ will be the top-trim, while the RXE will be the starting trim of the vehicle.

The Triber is pinned by Renault’s cost-effective CMF-A+ platform. It will consist of features such as a cooled glove box, a 12V charging socket, AC vents in all rows and so on. As far as its safety is concerned, the Triber comes equipped with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, speed alert system and seat belt reminder system.

Engine-wise, the Triber will employ Renault’s 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, ‘Energy’ petrol motor. This motor will be giving 71 BHP of power along with 96 Nm of torque. It will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, with a 5-speed Easy-R automatic transmission being offered as an option.

Renault are expected to price the Triber aggressively given the high levels of  localisation involved. It will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10, Ford Figo and the Mahindra KUV100. Renault will be hoping that the Triber causes an impact in the market similar to that of the Kwid in 2015.
