As per our good friend at Motorbeam, the most awaited gearless scooter of this-year the Yamaha Ray is scheduled to launch on 14th September, 2012. We have already reported last-week that the bookings for the Yamaha Ray has already commenced and the company has also put in a contest to win this new two wheeler if they manage to guess the exact or correct price.
Now the Yamaha Ray gearless scooter can be booked at any Yamaha dealerships across India at a price of Rs 5,000 and in case you cancel your bookings you’ll have a penalty of Rs 500. Meanwhile, you guys can also take part in this guess the launch price of Yamaha Ray Contest. To visit click here
Even now nothing official from Yamaha India, our friend at Motorbeam suggests that the upcoming Yamaha Ray gearless scooter would be powered by an 113cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled SOHC engine. The engine is supposedly produce around 8 BHP of peak power at 8000 RPM and around 7.5 Nm of peak torque at 6500 RPM (torque figures are not confirmed). And the company claims a mileage of 45 kmpl.
According to the same, it would be priced at Rs. 51,000 (on-road Pune) and Rs. 56,500 (on-road Mumbai). While the Yamaha Ray Scooter will be produced at Yamaha’s plant up north at Surajpur facility in Uttar Pradesh, alongside the brand’s various motorcycle models.
