Yamaha will launch an all-new bike in India tomorrow on April 17, 2015. The Japanese producer said in a welcome that the April 17 launch “unfolds another exciting chapter of its journey in India”. The word on the street is that the bike will be the ‘Saluto’ which will be launched in the lucrative 125cc segment. It will be fueled by a 123cc single-chamber air-cooled motor, the same unit seen on the SS 125.
The motor churns out 11 PS of power and 10.4 NM of peak torque. It is expected to have similar power figures for the new commuter. The Saluto when launched will be going up against the likes TVS Phoenix and Honda Shine, with costs anticipated that would begin at INR 50,000, ex-Showroom. The spy shots of the bike have already surfaced over the internet and it is expected to come with a minimal no-nonsense design.
As seen in the spy shot, the Yamaha Saluto gets a clean styling with a lengthened single seat for comfort. It rides on alloy wheels and gets telescopic front forks and coil springs at the back. The braking force will originate from drum brakes at the front and back.
Passing by the plain looks of the Saluto, Yamaha is liable to position it underneath the YBR 125 in its lineup. Accentuation will likewise be on upgraded fuel proficiency which is required to surpass the 65 kmpl stamp on the Saluto. While Yamaha appreciates a solid brand esteem in the 150cc or more sports section, the organization is as yet attempting to hold ground against the more settled players that do noteworthy numbers in correlation in the mass volume arena.
