Yamaha is working hard to introduce its new range of vehicles globally. The company’s range of scooters is just like the range of performance bikes offered by them in the global market. Currently having more than 30 models of scooters in the European market ranging from a tiny 50cc to a powerful 530cc engine, Yamaha yet again introduced a light, compact automatic scooter named ‘Yamaha D’elight’ in the European market back in July-2013.
The D’elight features a 114 cc engine.
The D’elight being an urban commuter is currently on sales in the European market. As per the reports obtained, Yamaha’s D’elight is recently spotted testing for the first time in the country and is expected to be launched in the Indian market later this year. The upcoming D’elight is expected to be positioned above Yamaha’s Ray and Alpha series competing other manufacturer giant such as LML Vespa in the Indian market. Yamaha’s D’elight features smaller wheelbase, low seat height, telescopic front forks, 180mm front disc brakes, full sized helmet under-seat storage capacity, external fuel filter at the front , large chrome inserts for the front fascia, exposed engine, 12 inch tyres and round headlamp with chrome bezels.
There is currently no fix on when exactly the launch will happen in the Indian market.
Coming to the technical specifications, Yamaha’s upcoming D’elight is powered with 114cc single-cylinder engine coupled along with a fuel injection system producing a maximum power of 7.2 PS @ 7000 RPM at a maximum torque of 7.6 NM @ 5500 RPM. It is expected to be priced at around INR 70000 (ex-showroom) in the Indian market.
