German-automaker Volkswagen have confirmed that the T-Roc convertible SUV will arrive worldwide. Launch is scheduled to take place sometime in 2020. As of now, Volkswagen are concentrating on new products for India. Including the next-generation Polo and The Vento replacement, the Virtus.
It seems more likely that VW will consider the T-Roc for our market. Unveiled as a concept in the 2014 Geneva Motor show, the T-Roc has become one of the most eagerly awaited models since that time. The 2018 Volkswagen T-Roc debuted at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor show.
Offered with 3 turbo petrol (TSI) engines and 3 Turbo diesel engines (TDI) the T-Roc will come mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. It will be available in 3 trims, which are standard, styled and sport. When launched in India, it will sit between a VW compact SUV and the VW Tiguan.
It’s probable rivals include the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta and the Renault Captur. The car will roll out of VW’s Osnabruck plant in Germany, but expect the India-specific ones to roll-out from VW’s Chakan plant in Pune. Given its design philosophy, we can expect the T-Roc to be a big hit amongst the Indian public.
