TVS motor company is doing really well in the Indian market right now, they already have a few good products on sale and intend to launch a few more in the upcoming months. Since TVS already had a stronghold in the Indian market, they decided to try their luck in the international market and started exporting their products to African as well as other Asian countries and were very much successful in this venture too. In fact, they were so successful that, they had to set up a new manufacturing plant in Indonesia to cater to growing demand.
TVS now wants to expand its product line in the African market too, and as part of their plan to expand, they have now launched the Star HLX 125 in Tanzania . The Star HLX 125 has been designed to suit Tanzanian riding conditions, and is ideal to be used as a ‘BodaBoda’, which is a Tanzanian mode of public transport, in which one takes people on a motorcycle to the desired destination in exchange for money.
The Star HLX 125 is powered by a 125cc EcoThrust engine which has been designed to provide maximum torque while also delivering best in class torque. It produces a max power output of 11 BHP at 8000 rpm, and is expected to return more than 60 kilometres to the litre.
Some other features included on the motorcycle are, electric start, a third footrest for the third person (riding triples is legal in Tanzania), flexible turn indicators to prevent it getting damaged, sturdy overall build quality, alloy wheels as standard, a long, straight, thick and flat seat for rider and passenger comfort etc. The star HLX 125 will be assembled locally at TVS motors’ new assembly line in Tanzania.
