Essentially, the Urban Cruiser is a rebadged Maruti Vitara Brezza. While it will share the same bodyshell, Toyota will give it some design changes to distinguish it from the Maruti version. The Urban Cruiser could get a new grille, much like the Glanza, and among other improvements, revised bumpers.

Toyota may also make any improvements to the interior. In addition to replacing the Maruti badges with those of Toyota, the car could also have lighter colored interiors that could make the cabin feel more airy.

It is expected that the Urban Cruiser will be powered by the same Vitara Brezza 1.5-liter 4-cylinder petrol mild-hybrid powertrain. This engine produces 104 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm @ 4,400 rpm and is equipped with either a 5-speed manual or automatic 4-speed transmission.

The Kia Sonet is another sub-4 meter SUV expected to launch this festive season. It will rival the same segment as the Urban Cruiser.
