After the launch of new variants of the Aviator and the Activa range from Honda’s stable, the Dio, the company’s second largest-selling scooter model in India is due for an upgrade to meet the latest BS4 emission norms and AHO (Automatic Headlamp-On) feature.
Now, there is a spy shot of the new 2017 Dio without any camouflage at some dealership stockyard, indicating the company is planning to launch the new version soon. According to the spied image, the new Dio gets a smiling element on the front visor looks like new LED position lamps. Also note that the front apron now comes in dual-tone paint scheme and the overall body gains refreshed body graphics.
Apart from the above changes, we can notice the new Yellow-Grey dual shade in the lineup. The reports also say that there will be another new Orange-Grey shade on offer. And obviously, the new Dio will be upgraded with both Automatic Headlamp-On (AHO) and Bharat Stage-IV emission norms to meet the new Government notification effective April 1, 2017.
Mechanically, the changes are very unlikely on 2017 Honda Dio. The current-scooter is powered by the 109.2cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke engine that churns-out a maximum of 8bhp and develops a peak torque of 8.77Nm. Due to the BS-IV compliant engine and some add-ons, the updated Dio will command a slight premium over the current version.
Spotted this new 2017 Honda Dio at dealership stockyard in unknown location in India, it hints that this motoscooter is due for official launch in coming few days!
