Tata Zica is one of the most awaited small car considering the fresh looks and the styling that sets it apart from the other hatchback from the manufacturer. The Zica is expected to replace Indica and Tata expects the same impact from Zica once it is launched. The Zica was expected to launch by 20th of January, but now it seems the launch date has been postponed to mid-February. Although the reason for the delay is not know. The booking for Zica will begin during the Auto Expo where it will be showcased along side of other Tata products.
The Zica will be positioned under the Bolt, a segment which mainly is ruled by Hyundai i10 and Maruti Celerio. the Zica will be offered in both petrol and diesel options. The power house of the Zica is the all new home grown engines, the petrol version will have an all-aluminium 3-cylinder 1.2-litre unit from the Revotron family that generates about 84bp of power and 114Nm of torque. The diesel engine is a 1.05-litre unit which mainly is a downsized 3-cylinder version of the Indica’s 1.4-litre diesel unit. The diesel engine produces 69bhp and 140Nm of torque. The diesel engine is labeled as Revotorq, it is expected to be the brand name for future diesel engines from Tata.
The top-of-the-line Zica will be equipped with a host of safety features like dual front airbags, ABS, corner stability control, fog lamps, alloy wheels. To add pleasure to driving Zica will sport a audio system with USB, aux and Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone-based navigation (Android) paired to eight speakers sourced from Harman. It is expected that Tata will price the base petrol model under Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom) band.
