The Tata Harrier has created quite a buzz before its launch in January next-year. We are inching closer and closer to its launch, and the vehicle has been clicked numerous times. Now, news has come that a 7-seater version of the Harrier is undergoing development.
Dubbed the H7X, the vehicle is expected to arrive here by early-2020. Tata Motors did conclude that they will be showing a concept version of the vehicle before its release. It is expected to have a similar design theme compared to its 5-seater sibling and will likely be debuting at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.
The H7X will employ the Omega ARC platform derived from Land Rover’s D8 architecture. We can also expect a slight increase in the length and width culminating in more passenger and boot space. The H7X will be powered by the 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine making its debut soon.
This would mean that the vehicle will have 140 BHP of power along with 350 Nm of torque. It is also likely that Tata Motors will add more power to the H7X, with the output going up to 173 BHP. This engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with an automatic version also on the cards.
Prices are expected to begin from Rs. 15 lakh and go to Rs. 20 lakh for the top trims. Tata Motors are already looking forward to launching the 45X premium hatchback to the market next year. Good demand for this coupled with the 5-seater Harrier could give the H7X a clear pitch to capitalise upon.
