Sheer value for money; that is precisely what the Tata Aria Crossover is, especially with the “December” discount offer doled out by Tata dealers. Tata Motors dealers now are offering a hefty discount of upto rs 2 lakhs on Tata Aria SUV. The most enticing part of the deal is the Rs 1.6 lakhs cash discount which is huge in any measure. The Rs 40 thousand can be traded over an older model as an exchange benefit. The baseline is the Tata Aria 4×2 variant is now available for Rs 9.9 lakhs against the actual Tata Aria price of Rs 11.61(Ex-showroom price) for its two wheel drive variant. Tata India had been deep in woes until now as the Tata Aria 4×2 launch did not work any miracles.
To begin with, the Tata Aria has not managed to put the sales chart on fire ever since its launch. The bulky body structure is a big turn off for many consumers which looks massive and quite imposing as compared to any rival in the segment, while the heavy pricing is the other. Initially launched as four-wheel drive car, the two-wheel drive variant has been offered as an afterthought. However, despite a good take-off, the sales of Tata Aria hit the rock bottom with the minimal 140 units last month.
The consumers nevertheless feel that the 4×2 variant should have been placed more economically to offer a good competition. Hopefully, the discounts will turn around the Tata Aria sales what the 4×2 variant couldn’t. Moreover, an automatic version of the SUV is also next on the cards. Tata Motors has seen a lot of ups and downs and finally seem to reach some stability where sales are concerned. The 2012 Tata Nano sales have picked up with 6,509 units in November. A diesel version of Tata Nano is also expected during next year.
