Suzuki Swift Sport revealed at Biennial Motor Show, Delhi

The Japanese automaker Suzuki had launched the all new 5-door version of the Swift Sport in UK last September. Before this launch, Swift Sport was only available as a 3-door version and was priced at £13,749 (12.3 lakh INR approx). Since the launch of Swift, It has continuously maintained the segment benchmark in the Indian market.

Suzuki showcased Swift Sport at Biennial Motor Show, Delhi recently. The Sport edition of Swift features twin exhaust outlets, 17” alloy wheels, HID head lamps, keyless entry and start, Brake Assist (BA), ESP, electronically folding side-view mirrors, ABS with EBD,  side impact protection beams, dual airbags in the front, curtain airbags and a knee airbag for the driver. In addition to this, Swift Sport also features steering-mounted Bluetooth and audio controls integrated with USB and iPod, cruise control and rally car inspired sports seats.

Coming to the technical specifications, the Suzuki Swift Sport is featured with a 1.6-litre petrol engine which produces a maximum power of 134Bhp at a maximum torque of 160Nm which is mated by a 6-speed manual transmission. The Swift Sport’s engine offers power combined with low emissions and provides a mileage of 15 kmpl. Maruti had actually considered launching the Sport Edition of the Swift back in 2012, but is not yet available. Hopefully Maruti might now consider launching it in the Indian market.
