Japanese bike manufacturer, Suzuki might make a big splash mid this-year with the launch of Inazuma 250, also known as GW 250 internationally. However it is not official, but the folks at BikeIndia reveal the arrival of Suzuki Inazuma 250 in India is certain, but the exact launch date still remains the mystery. The Inazuma is expected to be assembled at their Gurgaon plant to keep the pricing competitive.
Furthermore, the folks at BikeIndia speculate the Inazuma 250 to be price in the range of Rs 1.5-Rs 2.0 lakh range which would be make it an attractive package. Once launched, it faces direct competition from the likes of the recently launched Kawasaki Z250 and the KTM Duke 200. If all goes well, we could see the bike standing in Suzuki showrooms across India by May or June 2013.
Suzuki GW250 or Inazuma 250 has already been launched in the US, where it has received good response. The bike was exclusively designed for Asian markets, where the demand of affordable performance is rising constantly. Suzuki Inzuma has been developed right from the sketch board unlike the CBR250R and Kawasaki Ninja 250R, both of which have been based on sports bikes.
Under the skin, it is powered by a 248cc parallel-twin engine mated to a six-speed transmission and features an electronic fuel-injection system. The engine outputs a peak power of 26 Bhp while peak torque is rated at 24 Nm. With a fuel efficiency of around 30-35 kmpl, we are expecting the bike to find a lot of consumers among the youngsters and those looking for a powerful bike in affordable price.
