Nissan Terrano – FrontView
Nissan India will launch a badge engineered version of Renault Duster was a news since long time. The folks at AutoCarIndia revealed its name ‘Nissan Terrano’ couple of months back and the company also released the official sketches of the much anticipated compact SUV Nissan Terrano. Recently, Nissan India also confirmed the launch Nissan Terrano SUV in Mumbai on August 20, 2013.
A couple of days before the launch, our good friend at IndianAutosBlog have disclosed the firstever spy pictures of Duster’s cousin Terrano without a single piece of camouflage. From the spy pictures, it is evident that the Terrano resembles larger Nissan SUVs and pickups at the front, whereas the rear fascia looks much like the Chevrolet Orlando with EcoSport like taillamps.
On the inside, the Terrano will boost a premium interior with tons of features. The dashboard of the Terrano could sport rectangular shaped air con vents instead of circular vents as seen on the Duster. The dashboard also gets a differently shaped instrument console and silver accents on steering wheel. Engine options to be offered on the Terrano will be the same as that on Duster. Two tunes of diesel 1.5-litre K9K offering 85 PS and 110 PS respectively and a 1.6-litre petrol mill offering 104 PS. A 4×4 is also expected to be offered, but no news of automatic on cards.
Nissan Terrano – RearView
As far as pricing is concerned, the trusted sources reveal that Terrano will be priced about Rs 50,000- 60,000 more than the Renault Duster. According to industry experts, it is cleared from the intentions of Nissan that it does not want to make any similarity between Terrano and Duster, but wants to introduce it as totally a different product.
The media unveiling of the Nissan Terrano is to be held on Tuesday, expect the vehicle to hit dealerships from October, which we believe is the best time to launch a vehicle in the country.
