The German company BMW, which is currently working on the X4 crossover and the i3 Electric car had already showcased the new 2-Series based MPV at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. This Active tourer concept from BMW is BMW’s first front-wheel-drive model. BMW is also expected to showcase the all new 2-Series based MPV at the upcoming Geneva Motor show in the month of March-2014.
The upcoming BMW 2-Series is expected to compete the likes of Mercedes Benz B-Class. This new MPV would be available in a seven seater and a five seater version. It is expected to feature longer rear doors and the stretched rear roof. Coming to the technical specifications, the new BMW 2-Series would be available in both petrol and diesel engines.
The 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder, TwinPower petrol engines would produce a maximum power ranging between 122 PS and 224 PS whereas the diesel engine would produce a maximum power ranging between 82 PS and 184 PS.
