A prototype next-gen Ford Endeavour has been sighted on test again. This time the Endeavour is of a different juicy red colour than the white unit that we first saw in June-2013. Other than the colour, we also see a different alloy wheel design, but other than this the prototype looks exactly the same as the white vehicle, with ill-fitted body panels from the Territory.
The engineers at Ford are really testing the suspension and powertrain beneath the bluffing body panels. The folks at Motoring.com.au who have snapped the above picture reports that the next-gen Endeavour would offer at least 100mm of extra legroom than the Territory behind the front seats, making it roomier for both middle- and third-row passengers.
The same engineering team that worked on the new Ranger would develop the 2015 Ford Endeavour, which is an SUV top hat on the same platform. The new coil-sprung rear suspension is likely to replace the Endeavour’s truck-like leaf spring set-up. The Endeavour’s generous ground clearance and low-range gearbox are features that would remain unchanged.
We expect the production 2015 Endeavour to stay true to the Everest concept with minor toning down of details. This is the same design study that also helped Ford in the development of the EcoSport.
