Similarly, the Skoda Fabia 1.6-litre petrol too is discontinued for the same reason. Now a recent click by the motoring enthusiasts over at Overdrive has spotted Volkswagen Polo on a test-run with 1.2 TSI badge on the rear at the Pune-Mumbai express highway.

So we can safely assume that the 1.2-litre TSI engine which is being tested for launch in the Indian market. Getting to the engine specs on the Polo 1.2 TSI, we’ve got a 1.2-litre fuel injection turbo-charged engine that will hand out 104bhp along with 175Nm of peak torque.
Volkswagen claims a 0 – 100 kmph sprint in just 9.7 seconds, while the top speed is 190 kmph. The company also claims a mileage figure of 18.9kmpl for the Polo 1.2 TSI, which for a petrol engine is pretty exciting. The Polo 1.2 TSI is expected to be priced about Rs. 1 lakh over the regular 1.2 variant with good combination of performance and mileage. Volkswagen India might launch the Polo 1.2 TSI very soon in the coming months.
