According to a media report, Kia India plans to launch a compact SUV in 2020 apart from the Carnival MPV.
It is expected that the new model (Codename: QYI) will compete in the compact SUV category with the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV300. The car could be unveiled at Auto Expo 2020, while it is expected to launch formally next year in July.
The QYI is expected to share its underpinnings with the Hyundai Venue and with the same selection of engines could also be offered. The report suggests that the QYI would obtain the 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine of the Venue and could obtain more than one option for automatic transmission.
It was also stated that dual-tone color choices and features like a head-unit touchscreen infotainment with UVO Connect could be equipped on the QYI.
