Tata Motors are all set to roll-out a facelifted model of their popular compact SUV, the Nexon. This model is set for launch sometime next year. The Nexon facelift has been spotted numerous times on Indian roads.
This is one more instance of the expected happening, with the compact SUV undergoing testing in camouflaged form. We can see a couple of significant changes on the exterior. These include a revised grille and projector headlamps having LED DRL’s.
The front bumper has also been tweaked a bit, housing a new set of fog lamps. On the rear, there are minimum changes in the tail-lamp to take note of. There has been no photos clicked regarding the interior of the compact SUV as for the time being.
We can expect the Nexon facelift to have a clever list of features as seen on the current model. Tata Motors will not look to compromise on the safety standards set by the Nexon in recent times. It will come with the same body-shell, which earned itself a 5-star global NCAP crash test rating.
At present, Tata offers a 1.2 litre turbocharged Revotron petrol motor and a 1.5 litre Revotorq diesel motor for the Nexon. While the former is available with 110 BHP of power and 170 Nm of torque, the latter makes the same power output with 260 Nm of torque. Both engines come mated either to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The Nexon facelift will feature BS-VI compliant units of both motors. Tata may price the Nexon at around the Rs. 7-12 lakh range, which makes it a good pick amongst its rivals. These include the Hyundai Venue, Ford Ecosport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Mahindra XUV300.
