Indian buyers may soon get another luxurious car brand to choose. Worlds well known company Infiniti is ready to debut India. Japanese brand Nissan is all set to launch it in India. Infiniti will catch up with India’s top luxurious brands like Audi, BMW, and Mercedes .
Kiminobu Tokuyama, managing director and CEO Nissan Motor India, told Business Standard “We have got a global Infiniti business unit, which is a separate unit from Nissan Motor Company. They have been studying all the opportunities and I am sure they will start studying the Indian market, as it is the best potential market in the world.”
At present Infiniti have tied up with Shreyans Group who is official importer of Ferrari, Maserati, Ducati & Porsche. Nissan has been pushing for expansion of the Infiniti brand into newer markets across the globe — Taiwan, South Korea, Russia, Ukraine, China and Western Europe over the years. The brand is popular in the very developed automotive markets of the US and Canada markets.
They will roll out some of their famous products like G Series (Saloon), M-series (Saloon), EX series (mini SUV), FX series ( SUV), QX series( SUV). All these models are not locally made and have to pay high duty charges.
In next nine months, the company will be launching its first locally produced car from its Chennai plant. We hope everything goes well in Infinity way and get well known luxurious brand name in India.
