A couple week before we brought you the rendered picture of the Tata Safari Merlin. Now the undisguised images of the Tata Safari Merlin are out again in the open and thanks to IndianAutosBlog reader Shatrughan Saxena, for the snap. The all New Tata Safari was caught in an ad-shoot at magarpatta City, Pune. One of our fellow bloggers also says the 2012 Safari will get the Storm Acronym along with it.

The Tata Safari Storm is said to have borrowed a lot of features from the Land Rover models along with the flatter front end and the flared head lamps. The Tata Storm from a distance it looks like a facelift though virtually everything is new and the rear end from the Tata Safari outgoing model which has the wheel affixed at the back, which now positions itself in the boot in the Tata Storm.

As for the Tata Safari Storm specifications, it is based on the Aria platform and will get the same engine under the hood. The engine that powers the SUV is however likely to be the seasoned 2.2 liter turbo DiCOR diesel engine that keeps the capacity to produce a maximum power of 140 Bhp and 320 Nm peak torque.

As for the interiors of the Tata Storm, the SUV gets wooden dash inserts and round dials give the dashboard a elegant look. More features include Dual exhausts like the Aria, A chrome plate at the rear which gives it a rich look and a set of new Alloy wheels. Safety features like 6 airbags, ESP, ABS, EBD and hopefully a new feature the Hill decent control could make it in the new Safari.

The Tata Storm SUV is expected to come loaded with safety features like 6 airbags, ESP, ABS, EBD and hopefully a new feature the Hill decent control. The SUV is likely to come in both the two-wheel drive and the four-wheel drive options, however, the automatic gearbox might not be included in the Tata Storm SUV’s feature platter.

Apparently, Tata Storm is going to be an upgraded version of the Tata Safari. The Tata Safari Storm price is likely to be placed slightly around Rs 11 lakh to sit in direct competition with Mahindra XUV500. Tata Motors will launch the Safari Storm at the 2012 Auto Expo.
