Spied – New Suzuki Grand Vitara facelift in China

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) launched the third-generation Grand Vitara SUV wayback in July, 2007 and since then car manufacturer has probably forgotten to update their flagship model. On this gap, Ford launched the refreshed Endeavour last-year and Toyota also upgraded its Fortuner earlier this-year. Chevrolet too launched its new Captiva a couple of days before.

If Ford, Toyota, and Chevrolet have their updated SUVs, can Maruti Suzuki stay behind without upgrading theirs? No. So it was about time Suzuki designers showed some love to the long forgotten Grand Vitara. After about 5 years of duty internationally, Suzuki will give the Grand Vitara a mild facelift. Thanks to the Chinese blog, for spy pics of the new Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV.

The facelifted version was caught testing in China market and looking at the growing Indian market, we are sure of the car maker planning to launch this model in India too. From the images, it is evident that the new version features, the follows;

  • Sunroof
  • New designed headlamps
  • Chrome grill
  • New Bumpers
  • ORVM with turn indicators

Atleast now Maruti doesn’t want to repeat their mistake it made to the current model by pricing it out of contention, no diesel option, not making any sense in the luxury SUV segment and the company should assemble of new SUV in India to reduce costs.

What we say? We won’t be surprised if Maruti Suzuki launches the new Grand Vitara in the compact SUV segment to rival around Renault Duster and Ford EcoSport because the company has earlier turned Versa into an Eeco, retailing at almost 50% its original price.
