No matter how careful company tries to protect their motorcycles’ details before launch, spy pics emerge on the internet before the official launch almost in every case. Just yesterday night, we brought you the first undisguised pictures of the new 2012 TVS Apache RTR and today we’ve another first undisguised picture of the new Bajaj Discover.
Thanks to AutoCarIndia reader Mr. Ninad Kashikar, who has recently spotted the first undisguised pictures of next-generation Bajaj Discover undergoing the trail-run in an unknown location. The price and exact date of release of this new Bajaj Discover is not known yet, but it looks like this new Discover model shall launch shortly to replace the current Discover.
From the images, it is clear that next-gen Discover will receive a complete makeover in terms of style. The front- fascia is almost similar to the Discover 150 DTSi, which was showcased earlier at the 2008 Auto Expo (click here to see). The instrumentation console has been changed from twin-pod analog layout to a new single analog layout, note the absence of the digital instrumentation. The rear view mirrors seem to be borrowed from Pulsar 200NS, while the turn indicators are lifted straight from the Pulsar 135.
However, the big change for the new model is the rear suspension, where the twin gas filled shock absorbers have been replaced with a gas-charged monoshock unit, it is a first bike to feature in the segment. The new discover has contoured seat and it is fitted with half chain cover. The new Discover also sports new exhaust muffler and a set of new alloy wheels design looks similar to the Pulsar 200NS.
The new Bajaj Discover has given a sporty look, but it’s not sporty as I expected, as it appears to have a small body size and also the engine fitted to it doesn’t look that big. Like the Pulsar series, the Discover series too have been impressive to the company. So will new Bajaj Discover create some nightmare for its rivals likes of TVS’s StarCity, Hero MotoCorp’s Splendor motorcycles, Honda’s CB Twister, Stunner and upcoming Dream Yuga. What you say?
