Spied – Mahindra Quanto dropped camouflage, during ad-shoot in New Delhi (Video)

Mahindra Quanto - 001

A couple of week before we brought you the firstever pictures of the Mahindra Quanto. Now the undisguised images of the Mahindra Quanto are out again in the open and thanks to Team-BHP member VC.Vinay, for the snap. The all new Mahindra Quanto was caught in an ad-shoot at Indira Gandhi International Airport T3 Terminal, IGI T3 Road, New Delhi.

The Quanto from distance it looks like a Xylo but move closer you’ll notice its compact size and spare wheel which attached to the tail gate. If we are not wrong, clearly observe from the front bumper up till the second row, there are no differences between the Xylo and the Quanto. Interiors too will be the same as the ones found on the facelifted Xylo but the windows in the last row are butterfly windows.

Mahindra Quanto - 002

Mahindra has named the mini-MPV aka mini-Xylo or U203 as Mahindra Quanto, which follows company’s tradition of ending a vehicle’s name with ‘O’ (XUV5OO, Scorpio, Bolero, Verito, Xylo, Genio, Maxximo, Gio, Duro, Rodeo etc…). As we siad before, the Quanto will come with a seven seat option (5 adults and 2 kids in the rear jump seats) but leaves no boot space in that case, however the last row of seats can be folded to be used as a boot-lid.

Under the hood, the Quanto has engine derived from the 2.2-litre mHawk engine that is on duty in Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra XUV 500. The Quanto will have the 1.5-litre downsized avatar of the mHawk engine. Notably, despite of being downsized Mahindra has tried to keep the power output all the same. As per the reports, the new SUV engine will be of 100 bhp and it will be a three pot one rather than the four pot one in Scorpio or the XUV 500. It is expected to give a mileage of 17.3 kmpl.

Mahindra Quanto - 003

The company is ready to launch the all-new Mahindra Quanto on 20th September in Indian auto markets. However, the price and more details will be revealed only after the official launch but be doubt it to be priced similar to the premium B-segment hatches, which could mean a base price that starts from Rs. 6 lakh and Rs. 7.5 lakh for the fully loaded top-end model. Also there is rumor that the four-wheel-drive versions are in the works.
