Come Auto Expo 2016, Maruti Suzuki is planning to change the complete situation of sub 9 lakh compact SUV arena. The company is being relied upon to offer a SUV at cost of B+ segment model post that. The car for this will be the sub-4 metre YBA and it is expected to come with a better ground clearance and more space than the Ecosport.
The production of the Maruti YBA will commence on last quarter of 2015.
Maruti Suzuki YBA would likewise feature some exceptional bells and whistles like DRL’s, projector headlamps and Smart play music infotainment system. It will be offered in five trims, L, V, V+, Z and Z+ in both fuel choices. Maruti YBA will get same power-train as of Maruti Ciaz which is a 1.3 Super turbo DDis & 1.4 K-series petrol.
Furthermore, notwithstanding that, it may get Suzuki’s 1.0 duel jet motor that is based on K-Series 998cc with double injectors for every cylinder. Speaking to Economic Times, Maruti Suzuki executive director for marketing and sales, RS Kalsi, revealed that the 5-seater Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) will be launched by March-2016. Although the official name of the model still remains a secret, the sources close to us say that the Maruti YBA is likely to be named Vitara Brezza.
Other new comers in the segment are Hyundai’s ix25, Tata Motors’ Nexon, Mahindra’s S101, Honda will also be bringing the Mobilo-based compact SUV, Toyota might consider bringing in Rush, Chevrolet may get Trax and VW’s Taigun may come too. The Maruti YBA is expected to be priced extremely competitively at Rs. 5.5 lakh and will be slotted between the Swift and Ertiga.
