Maruti YBA Compact SUV rendered, India launch by March-2016

Come Auto Expo 2016, Maruti Suzuki is planning to change the complete situation of sub 9 lakh compact SUV arena. The company is being relied upon to offer a SUV at cost of B+ segment model post that. The car for this will be the sub-4 metre YBA and it is expected to come with a better ground clearance and more space than the Ecosport.

Speaking to Economic Times, Maruti Suzuki executive director for marketing and sales, RS Kalsi, revealed that the 5-seater Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) will be launched by March-2016. Although the official name of the model still remains a secret, the sources close to us say that the Maruti YBA is likely to be named Vitara Brezza.

Other new comers in the segment are Hyundai’s ix25, Tata Motors’ Nexon, Mahindra’s S101, Honda will also be bringing the Mobilo-based compact SUV, Toyota might consider bringing in Rush, Chevrolet may get Trax and VW’s Taigun may come too. The Maruti YBA is expected to be priced extremely competitively at Rs. 5.5 lakh and will be slotted between the Swift and Ertiga.
