Do you remember? Earlier this-year just after the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo, we brought you the firstever spy pictures of Great Wall Haval 5 spotted testing in India. This Chinese vehicle is expected to be sold in collaboration with ICML in India. It now seems ICML who have only one MUV on their portfolio, the Rhino is looking at extending their line-up with Chinese cars in India.
Recently an IndianAutosBlog reader named Mayur Kabra has spotted a Right Hand Drive Chery Easter Cross 7-Seater MPV with their support car Rhino carrying some test equipment and instruments near Jaiselmer. This Chery Easter Cross is being tested here by ICML and it’s not the first Chinese car to be sold in India, the Premier Rio is already on-sale in India.
Under the hood, the Easter Cross MPV is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine which doesn’t make sense in India. Hence, we speculate this test mule might have been powered by ICML’s 2.0-litre 120 BHP CRD-Fi diesel engine, which is also found in their recently launched Extreme MPV.
The Easter Cross MPV comes with beige interior with faux wood finishing on the dashboard and steering, and a centrally-mounted instrument console. To increase the portfolio in India, ICML needs to launch more vehicles and set up wide sales and service network countrywide.
