SPIED: Aprilia RS 150 spotted in Goa, launch likely to happen this-year

Aprilia are currently readying their much-hyped RS 150 for the Indian market. The RS 150 is basically an affordable 150cc sportsbike which will be coming here soon. Aprilia did unveil the RS 150 to a good response during the 2018 Auto Expo last-year.

The production-spec Aprilia RS 150 for India might be based on the Chinese Aprilia GPR 150.

Recently, the motorcycle was clicked in a dealer event in Goa. From the pictures, we can see the RS 150 quite similar to the concept one showcased last year. The RS 150 will be based on the Zongshen Aprilia GPR 150 (APR 150-V) sold in China.

Engine-wise, the GPR150 comes powered by a 149cc, single-cylinder, DOHC engine. This engine makes 18 BHP of power along with 14 Nm of torque. We can expect the RS 150 to carry forward the same engine when it arrives here.

Compared to the Aprilia RS 150 showcased at the 2018 Expo, there seem to be quite a few subtle changes in the spy image.

Though not formally confirmed, the RS 150 was scheduled to be launched during the 2020 Auto Expo. But, these pictures give us a hint of the motorcycle coming to the market soon. So, there is also a possibility of the RS 150 being launched here this-year.

When launched, the RS 150 is expected to be priced at around Rs. 1.6 lakh, which would be on par with its rivals. They are the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0, Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. We can also expect Aprilia to bring the GPR 150 to the Indian market and badge it as the RS 150.
